Cable Detection's OEM Partnership with Stanley

8 October 2009

September 1st become a prestigious day in the history of Cable Detection as the final IntelliScan cable avoidance tools finally left the manufacturing facility, completing the first batch of OEM products produced exclusively for Stanley Works. Soon to be introduced in a number of key strategic markets in Europe, the sheer brand presence and sales channels of Stanley will enable the cable avoidance products to reach a whole new range of users.

"close collaboration between Cable Detection & Stanley - dawning a new era of new products and new possibilities for both businesses"

Cable Detection (UK) has been an expert manufacturer and a prominent player in the cable locator market for a number of years, producing the highly renowned Leica DIGICAT locators; bringing together a fusion of advanced technology and a strong focus on simplicity and usability to a global market. Cable Detection's products were designed specifically to increased site safety by removing many of the error prone elements from detection; a unique feature which was appealing to Stanley Works and their own strategic ambitions.

Stanley has been operating for over 166 years from humble beginnings in the US. Stanley Works is a worldwide manufacturer and marketer of tools, hardware and specialty hardware products for home improvement, consumer, industrial and professional use. The company stills bears not only Frederick Stanley's name but also the spirit and passion that drove him to succeed where others failed. The ‘IntelliScan' cable avoidance tool was produced with close collaboration between Cable Detection & Stanley, dawning a new era of new products and new possibilities for both businesses.

The new range will feature a handheld locator, signal generator and complimentary accessories which will provide a full assortment of cable locating products to the market. The official product launch will take place in a number of key markets in Europe within the final quarter of the year. If the initial launch and subsequent sales levels successful, the geographic scope of the product could be extended further. Early predictions are encouraging, even within the backdrop of a difficult and contracting economic climate.
